On Easy Boat Deals, every monetary transaction and reference is made in United States Dollars (USD), irrespective of the boat's geographical location. We might navigate towards adding other currencies in our future voyages, stay tuned.
The buyer is always responsible for covering transportation costs, making it prudent to assess your travel or shipping expenses ahead of bidding. Depending on the size of the boat, collection methods vary, from flying to the boat's location and sailing it back, to hauling it on a trailer. Consider the journey's length, whether by land or sea, and weather conditions, as shipping san often present a simpler and more economical solution.
EBD offers a transportation and shipping service so feel free to reach out if you need a quotation.
Before bidding, ensure the pickup timeline aligns with the seller's availability. Some sellers might be willing to temporarily store the boat or help facilitate its transfer to a more accessible location for shipping purposes. Keep in mind that processes like title transfers and loan settlements may require additional time. When uncertain, it's best to communicate with the seller to confirm that the pickup schedule suits them.
We recommend paying through wire transfers or cashier’s checks, but there are other options too. It’s important to discuss when and how the payment will be made with the seller to ensure you both agree on the timing and steps involved.
Remember, getting a new title issued after a loan is paid off can take a few weeks in some places. Also, in some states, the seller has to notarize the title before it can be given to you. Make sure to check these rules.

Buyers Questions
Buyers are required to pay a buyer's fee to Easy Boat Deals, which is 4.5% of the final purchase price, in addition to the amount payable to the seller. This fee is subject to a minimum of $225 and is capped at a maximum of $4,500.
To get started with registration, first, navigate to the upper right corner of the screen and click on the "Sign In" icon. Following that, select "Sign up here" from the popup box. Create your login credentials by setting up a username and password, after which you'll need to verify your email address. Once verified, you can go back to Easy Boat Deals to complete the bid registration process.
If you're not ready to register immediately, that's fine – you can always do it at a later time. When you find a boat you're interested in bidding on, simply click "Place Bid" on the listing page for that boat. You'll then be prompted to register if you haven't already. Part of the registration includes providing your credit card details because a temporary hold is placed on the credit card of each bidder for the duration of the auction.
To submit a bid, ensure you've completed the registration process outlined above. Once registered and you've spotted a boat that catches your interest, the bidding process is straightforward – simply hit the “Place Bid” button on the Boat’s listing page. You'll then be asked to input the amount you wish to bid.
Remember, your offer needs to exceed the current highest bid. There is a set minimum increment that your bid must surpass relative to the last highest bid. After placing your bid, a temporary hold is placed on your credit card for an amount equivalent to 4.5% of your bid, effective for the auction's duration, to secure your position should you emerge as the top bidder.
The progression of bid increments is structured as follows:
- The auction opens with a starting minimum bid of $100.
- Increments of $100 apply until the bid reaches $14,999.
- For bids ranging from $15,000 to $49,999, increments rise to $250.
- Bids between $50,000 and $199,999 increase in $500 increments.
- Once bids hit $200,000 or more, increments elevate to $1,000.
Yes, but you must settle the full payment for the boat immediately after the auction ends, in line with the requirements for all buyers. Moreover, you are solely responsible for handling logistics, including import fees, transportation, legal costs, and any other necessities for exporting or importing the boat.
It's crucial to familiarize yourself with all relevant regulations and to have all arrangements ready before placing a bid. Researching transportation and import laws should not be left until after the auction has concluded. Please make sure to read Easy Boat Deals blog articles on boat documentation and transportation.
Pick the most you'd pay for the boat you want to bid on. When you place a bid, it means you're okay paying up to that amount if needed.
The Easy Boat Deals Auto-bid helps by comparing your bid to others and increases your bid step by step. It won't go over your top amount, trying to win the auction for you as long as no one bids higher than your max.
A hold is placed on your credit card when you place a bid to cover the potential buyer’s fee in case you become the winning bidder. This hold amounts to 4.5% of your bid, subject to a minimum of $225 and a maximum of $4,500. Should you not win the auction, this hold will be removed from your credit card once the auction ends.
For those people who do not win the auction, we immediately remove the hold on their accounts once the auction has ended. However, the timeframe for this hold to be visibly lifted from your account can vary, sometimes taking a few days or, in exceptional instances, up to 7 business days. For inquiries regarding the specific timeline or process, we recommend reaching out directly to your card issuer.
When a listing is without a reserve price, it will be marked with a "No Reserve" tag and accompanying text near the bidding area. If this label is absent, then the auction includes a reserve price. The specific reserve amounts are not disclosed, and participants are advised against inquiring about reserve prices from sellers while the auction is ongoing. The meeting of the reserve price will only be revealed if the car is sold when the auction concludes.
If you end up as the top bidder on a boat but the reserve price isn't achieved, we'll facilitate discussions between you and the seller to agree on a price that works for both. Should a mutual price be agreed upon, we'll connect the top bidder with the seller directly, and our commission reduces to 2.5%.
This opportunity for a post-auction agreement is exclusive to the highest bidder. To maximize your chances of acquiring the vehicle, it's advisable to bid the highest amount you're comfortable with during the auction itself.
When the auction ends, the contact details of both the buyer and seller are exchanged to facilitate the completion of the sale. For further information, refer to the section on Finalizing the Transaction.

Although we don't offer a feature for precise auction scheduling, we do take seller preferences into account. If you have a preferred start date or want to prevent your auction from going live at an inconvenient time (such as during a vacation or business trip), please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Every auction runs for a period of seven days, although this can vary slightly. This variation occurs because any bid placed within the final minute of the auction extends the clock back to one minute. This approach mimics a classic auction environment, where the auction concludes only when there are no more bids, as opposed to certain online auctions that terminate at a predetermined time, often benefiting last-moment bids.
Direct modifications to your live listing or auction aren't possible on your end. Nevertheless, throughout the active period of your listing or auction, you'll be in continuous contact with Marine Trade. If adjustments are needed, just let us know what changes you'd like to make. You also have the option to enrich your listing by adding comments, including more photos, and answering questions to provide greater detail and clarity.
We highly encourage active engagement in the comments section, and we expect you to address any queries posed there, in the Q&A section of your listing or auction, or through direct messages from users via the Contact Seller feature. Sellers who actively participate tend to achieve greater success. Maintaining a positive and helpful tone in your responses can further boost confidence among potential bidders.
Remember, the interested buyer is likely a fellow boat enthusiast, showing genuine interest in your vessel. Their questions usually indicate serious consideration of your boat!
Yes, we provide sellers with the option to choose either a “reserve” or a “no reserve” auction format. In a “reserve” auction, there is a minimum price set by the seller, which remains undisclosed to buyers throughout the auction. Conversely, a “no reserve” auction does not have a minimum price, allowing the boat to be sold to the highest bidder regardless of the amount.
Should you opt for a reserve auction, we'll request that you propose a reserve price. However, we might suggest a lower reserve price before agreeing to list your boat. If we're unable to reach a consensus on the reserve price, you're of course welcome to sell your boat through other channels without any issues.
If you wish to change your reserve price after the auction has started, you have the flexibility to lower it at any time. To do this, use the “Lower reserve” option on your auction listing page and submit your new, lower reserve price. Please note, this feature is exclusively for lowering the reserve price; hence, your new reserve must be less than the initial one.
We advise strongly against disclosing your reserve price, particularly in public comments or the Q&A sections. Our experience shows that revealing a reserve price tends to dampen the bidding momentum, especially when the auction approaches or hits that specified value.
All individuals registered to bid on Easy Boat Deals, with a verified email and a valid credit card on file, are eligible to bid on your boat. Bidders must complete their payment within one week after the auction ends.
The buyer could be located outside the United States or Canada. International buyers are required to settle their payments swiftly after the auction concludes, in line with the expectations set for all bidders. Moreover, they are solely responsible for handling logistics, import fees, transportation, legal obligations, and any other requirements associated with the export/import of the boat.
No, boats on Easy Boat Deals can only be sold via our auction. Attempting to bypass the auction for a private deal will lead to a permanent ban. To buy a boat, place your highest bid directly on Marine Trade; it's your surest path to securing the boat you desire.
If the reserve price isn't met, we will contact both you and the highest bidder to negotiate a mutually acceptable price. Should an agreement be reached, we'll connect you with the buyer and reduce our buyer's fee to 2.5%.
Only the highest bidder has the opportunity for a post-auction deal. We advise bidders to bid their maximum during the auction to increase their chances of securing the car they desire.
After the auction ends, finalizing the deal is up to the buyer and seller. Easy Boat Deals shares contact details between both parties, allowing them to conclude the sale through email or phone.
Typically, Easy Boat Deals suggests wire transfers and cashier’s checks as the most secure payment methods, but the best approach may vary with each transaction. For instance, if the buyer is nearby, it's common to arrange a meeting at their bank to issue a cashier's check, withdraw cash, or conduct an electronic transfer. Regardless of the method, it's crucial to exercise due diligence, such as confirming the validity of a cashier’s check with your bank or ensuring funds are fully transferred before transferring the title.
Before completing the sale or as the auction draws to a close, it's recommended to get acquainted with the title transfer procedures and their timelines to properly understand the selling process. Motivate prospective buyers to reach out for a discussion about the post-sale steps should they emerge as the highest bidder. Transparent communication about your expectations is key.
For boats with existing liens, look into the steps required to pay off the loan and transfer the title beforehand. Preparing a plan to resolve the loan immediately after the auction can make the sale go more smoothly.
Keep in mind, the timeframe for reissuing a title once a loan is settled can extend over several weeks in certain states. Additionally, some jurisdictions mandate notarization of the title prior to its transfer. Being informed about these specific rules can help prevent any unnecessary hold-ups with vital paperwork.
It's strongly advised to prepare a Bill of Sale outlining the boat's Make/Model/HIN, sale price, and transaction details, like dates and any included extras. Both parties should sign and date this document, keeping a copy for their records.
You can often find Bill of Sale templates on your state’s official websites. For a straightforward and free option, consider using services like eforms.com/bill-of-sale.
Instances of winning bidders not proceeding with their purchase on Marine Trade are exceptional. In the uncommon situation where this happens, the winning bidder will forfeit their 4.5% buyer’s fee and face a permanent ban from Easy Boat Deals.
If a buyer backs out, we immediately seek to negotiate a sale with the runner-up bidders at a price both parties agree on. Failing to secure a new deal, we may offer to re-list your boat for free or provide you with half of the original buyer’s fee after a 90-day period.
Unlike several of our rivals, we ensure that every listing and auction, irrespective of its result, is permanently visible to everyone. We believe in maintaining openness as a cornerstone to foster trust among the boating enthusiast community.
